Sundays at Intown

There’s room for you here.

Welcome to Intown Community Church!

Our congregation comprises varying backgrounds, rich life stories and diverse perspectives. We gather as friends, neighbors and family devoted to the truth of God’s Word and its transformative power. Learning together and delighting in soul-sustaining worship, we remind each other of God’s grace.

Whether you have unanswered questions or want to talk theology, we’re a welcoming space for challenging conversations and easy connections. Welcome to Intown Community Church—there’s room for you here.

Plan Your Visit

Here is some information that we hope will make your first visit more enjoyable.

Dress

We want you to come as you are and wear what makes you feel most comfortable. You’ll see people in coat and tie and others in shorts. We only ask that everyone dress respectfully toward God and others.

Parking

We have designated parking for newcomers on the east and west sides of the building. They are located near our entrances and are marked with signs. These are for you, so please feel free to use one of those spots.

Church Entrance

We have three entrances to the church, and we are the first to admit that knowing where to enter can be confusing.

The Side Door (west) is the entrance that most people use on Sunday mornings. Drive around the building and you will see signs pointing to the entrance. The Front Door (facing LaVista) can be accessed by sidewalks from our parking areas, and the Back Door is the best place to enter if you have children to drop off at the nursery.

Children

Nursery is available for infants - age 4 during the 9:30 a.m. hour and the 10:45 a.m. worship service. Check in at the nursery desk located on the ground level floor. Enter through the doors on the south side of the building.

There are other programs available for children in grades K-5 on Sunday mornings. For more information, check the section below called “Sunday for Children.”

Worship Style

We gather for worship at 10:45 a.m., and the service lasts about 80-90 minutes. Our Sunday service seeks to integrate the best of historic and modern worship within our local context. Through songs, prayers, scripture readings, preaching, and celebrating Communion each week, we retell the redeeming story of Jesus.
We believe that this gathering of God’s people is a vital part of our spiritual growth to follow Jesus and participate in his redeeming work in the world.

Offering

We believe that giving back to God a portion of what he has graciously provided for us is a form of worship for believers, so it is always part of our service. If you are not sure what you believe, then there is no expectation for you to participate. We do not pass the offering plate. We encourage people who want to give to make it online here. There is a slot for cash or check offerings on the wall just outside the door of the sanctuary on the right side as you are leaving.

Passing the Peace

At a certain point in the service, we have a short time for greeting each other during the service, which is called “Passing the Peace.” This is a practice that dates back to the early church, which reminds us that worship is not only a private matter but also a communal one. This is one way that we are known in community.

Welcome

At each entrance, greeters will be there to welcome you and answer any questions you might have about where to go. We also have a greeter stationed at our Welcome Desk located in the main lobby outside of the sanctuary who is well-versed in Intown’s ministries and can help you find answers to your questions about our offerings. If you arrive in time, we invite you to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea in our Welcome Center located off the lobby behind the Welcome Desk.

Students

Intown’s student ministry is called IDX, which stands for Identity in Christ. Students in 6th - 12th grade meet Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. for a relaxed time of fellowship and connection. On Sunday evenings they meet at Intown for teaching and fellowship. Middle School meets at 5:00 p.m. and High School meets at 6:30 p.m.
