Ladies Craft Evening - 11/5, 7:00 pm in Room 214

Join us as we craft ornaments for a Jesse Tree. What is a Jesse Trees you ask? It's very old Christmas tradition used as a kind of Advent Calendar. They are used to help tell the story of the Bible from creation to the Christmas Story. The name comes from Jesse who was the Father of the great Jewish King David. Each ornament represents a story of Gods faithfulness throughout time and corresponds to a scripture passage to prepare our hearts for the coming of the King. This small daily devotional is a great way to focus on the truth of Christmas rather than the craziness of December, and it designed for children and adults of all ages. (If you already have a set of Jesse Tree ornaments, consider joining us and making a second set to give to a friend or family member as a gift.)

OASIS Women's Bible Study

Thursday mornings at Intown offer an opportunity for women to come together and receive nourishment from the Lord through his word. Just like a green oasis in the middle of a bleak desert, Oasis is a break in the busy week to satisfy our most vital needs – communion with Christ and each other. We gather from 9:30-11:30 a.m. to worship, fellowship and study. Childcare is available for a small fee. Please click here for details and registration.

WOMEN'S MENTORING MINISTRY

ABOUT

The Women's Ministry is excited to offer an opportunity for mentoring relationships to be formed at Intown. Following the Titus 2 model of older women mentoring younger women, we are looking for women of all ages to participate.

WHAT IS A MENTOR?

A mentor is a person who has followed Christ longer than you have and is willing to share her life lessons. A mentor acts as a trusted guide, a teacher or coach.

WHAT DOES THE MENTORING RELATIONSHIP LOOK LIKE?

Mentoring is the sharing of one's life, being willing to be transparent and vulnerable. It is passing on the love and wisdom you have received out of gratitude for what you have received. Mentors meet with their mentee a minimum of once a month in an informal, relaxed setting and as often as the two decide. The mentor and mentee make a one year commitment to meet together.

WHAT MENTORING IS NOT

• It is not a replacement for a discipleship group or Bible study.

• It is not a therapy or professional counseling.

• It is not only spiritual guidance but provides practical guidance as well.
